DEGAM President Prof. Ferdinand M. Gerlach was confirmed in his Office with an overwhelming majority for the next three years. As Vice President, Mrs Prof. Erika Baum (University of Marburg) and Prof. Martin Scherer (University of Hamburg) were also re-elected.

The bio-psychosocial model, the active involvement of patients, multitasking, the care of the whole family and the cooperation with other health called were only some topics that were in the Congress in the focus. Against this background, the DEGAM pleased especially, that the Austrian society for General Medicine (OGAM) South Tyrol company for General Medicine (SuGAM) as a fellow organizer of the three countries-Congress”also brought their scientific know-how. Cooperation partner of the Congress were also the Ksfh and the AOK Bavaria. In the final event, DEGAM President Prof. Ferdinand M. Gerlach praised that Congress have gained not only quantitatively but especially high. The increasing internationalisation of which were participants from a total of 13 Nations underlines this scientific importance increase. A special thanks goes against this background on the osterreichische Gesellschaft fur Allgemeinmedizin”society of General Medicine (SuGAM) as a co-organizer of the three countries congresses (OGAM) and the South Tyrol.
